MAGISTRATES' COURT.
(Beforo Mr H. W. Bishop, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS. Edward Mills was fined 10s, or fortyeight hours imprisonment; Fanny "Walls 20s, or seven days'; and Annie Hendron 10s or 48 hours', all being second offenders. PROHIBITED PERSON PROCURLXG LIQUOR. Alexander Scott (Mr Beattie), an elderly man, charged with procuring liquor during tho currency of a prohibition order against him, was fined -Os, in default fourteen day.**.' imprisonment. A DOUBLE CHARGE. Gns Watson, for whom Mr Cat-sidy appe.ired, was charged with publishing a notification as to betting, contrary to the provisions of tho Gaming Act, and with assisting to disperse papers without an imprint. On Mr Cassidy's application, a remand was granted till Friday, Juno 14th. The first charge was afterwards withdrawn by leavo of the Court, MAINTENANCE. William Nixon applied to havo a bond discharged in tho caso of Grace Amelia Nixon (Mr Hunt). The hearing of tho application was adjourned till Juno 18th. Janies Burt was charged with disobedience of a maintenance order in respect to Jessio Albion Burt, and this was adjourned to the same date. Arthur Edward Lupton, charged with disobedience of a maintenance order in respect to Christina Ann Maria Lupton, was sentenced to throe months' imprisonment in default of payment. A similar sentence was passed in the caso of Francis Henry Fuller, charged with tho disobedience of a maintenance order in respect to Annio Matilda Fuller. John Bigwood applied for the variation of, a maintenance order in respect to Annio Elizabeth Bigwood. The order was reduced to 7s Cd per week. Isabel Emma Searby charged Benjamin Searby with persistent, cruelty and failure to maintain. An order was mado granting a separation, plaintiff to have custody of the children. In the caso of Paul Clark, charged by Olive Clark (Mr Wright) with being an habitual inebriate and with failure to maintain, a similar order was made. George Freeman (Mr Cassidy) was charged by Alice Mary Freeman (Mr Donnelly) with persistent cruelty and failure to maintain, and the caso was adjourned till Juno 19th. AFFILIATION. William Gunn (Mr Raymond) was adjudged the putative father of nn illegitimate child, and was ordered to contribute 10s per week towards its support. Defendant was further ordered to find security in tho sum of £100 that he would comply with tho order, in default six months' l imprisonment. A second affiliation case, in whi<*h Charles.. Francis was the defendant, was adjourned till June 18th.
