Charles Goreing. donkcyman on the steamship Karamea, wns charged with having unshipped uoods liable to duty, namely, 'JSlbs of jam and three gallons of pieklen, Of a total value, including I'M Rd duty, of £1 14s Sd. the duty on which had not boon paid or secured. The goods were ship's stores, which hud been issued to the n*?n, but had not been used, and we're the property of the shin. Accused was fined to 4s — three times the value of the good*. (Before Captain R. Ilatchwoll, J.P.) DRUNKENNESS. Throe first offenders pleaded guilty to charjros of drunkenness, and wero each fined 5s and in default 21 hours' imprisonment.
