THE ANTARCTIC EXPEDITION
Dr. G. C. Simpson, physicist to Captain Scott's Antarctic Expedition, who returned by the Terra Nova, left by the Maunganui last night for Sydney and Melbourne. After a brief stay in Australia, Dr. Simpson will return to India, and wiil resume his former work in tho Meteorological Department at Simla. Mr 11. G Ponting, special photographer to the Expedition, who spent fifteen months in tho Antarctic, was also a passenger by the Maunganui for Sydney, where ho will join the Orient liner Orama four England. Tho Terra Nova is now nt her lay-up berth* at Lytteiton, and will in all probability remain there for some months. Her sails have been unbent and everything put in order for tho winter spell. Her officers and crew will go on leave to-day lor a fortnight.
