SUPPOSED LOSS OF A FISHING SMACK.
(press association telegram.) AUCKLAND. April 10. A.dvicc was received by the Collector of Customs to-day, that a portion of a yacht or fishing boat comprising the transom, be«rin<* the name, "Edna, Auckland," had lieen washed ashore at Tryphena, Great Barrier. The wreckage in all probability is from the fishing smack Kdna. which has been engaged in tho fishing trade for some months. She is owned by J. Gallagher, of Parnell, who left early on Monday morning for Great Barrier to follow his usual occupation, and has not been heard of since. The weather in the ".ulf has been lioisterons lately, and possibly the little craft was blown ashore and smashed to pieces.
