WEST CHRISTCHURCH v. ST. ALBANS.
St. Albans had the choice of innings, and had no hesitation , in sending West Christchurch into the field. Bishop and T. W. Reese opened tho innings, and a capital partnership saw 80 up before Reese was caught by his brother. Sandman followed, and 100 went up for 55 minutes' play. At 151 Sandman had a lash' and was bowled, and 12 runs later Bishop was bowled after a brilliant, innings of 95. Both Brunton and Graham were dismissed cheaply, but Crawshaw and Barrett carried the total to 218 before the latter was bowled. Ollivier followed, and saw tho total raised to 272 before being caught in tho slips. Gordon failed to score, and 8 were down for 273. The third century went up for three hours' play, and then Crawshaw was bowled after a capital innings of 79. Watson failed to score and the innings closed for 310.
