(M-ECIAJ, TO "THE IT.K&S"). LWERCARGLLL, March 16. Oats.—There, is nothing doing in the oais market locally, as there is practically none of the new crop available. All northern demands are being met by Canterbury and North Otago merchants. Chaff. —There is not much business being dono locally, but the past week has shown a scarcity of old season's chaff, and prices have advanced accordingly. Wheat. —New season's wheat from North Canterbury and Oamaru is now offering to somo extent. Wheat of good milling quality, of equal quantities of Hunter's, Tuscans, and Velvet, has been sold at 3s 7d f.0.b., sacks extra, and is quoted to-day at that figure. Fowl Wheat. —The present value of good fowl wheat is 3s 6d to 3s 7d f.0.b.5.i.. with smutty and broken lines at 3s 2d upwards. Live Stock.- Prices are still good, and holders arc gradually becoming more firm in their demands. .Prices show an upward tendency in consequence, and business is therefofo more restricted.
