_ Kaiapoi won from Rangiora by one innings and 163 runs. Kaiapoi made 274, Rangiora 28 and 83 (J. Hay 54 not out). A very enjoyable cricket match was played yesterday aftgrnoon between a Veterans team and a team representing the Ethel Irving Company. The Veterans proved altogether too strong for their, opponents, scoring 130 to 61. For the winners tho best scorers were.—Smith 30 (retired), Bascand SO (retired), and Bloxham 30 (retired), while Nathan 15, and Bain 11, scored hiehest for the losers." Playing on Woolston . Domain on Saturday, St. Peters defeated Sumner by an innings and seven runs. Scores: St. Peters 61 (Hanna 21, Duncan 10, not out). Sumner, first innings, 34 (Chapman 17); second innings, 20 (K. Senior 9, not out). Hanna (2), Boundy and Charters for St. Peters, and Senior for Snmner, Bowled well. Playing m th*> Primary Schools Competition on Saturday, Waltham defeated Addington by 48 runs on the first innings. The winners scored 74, and 23 for one wicket (Hodson 22), while Addington made 26 and 76 tor 7 wickets (innings declared > closed) Johnston, 46 not out, being the chief scorer.
