(Before Messrs J. Garrard, J.P., and W. C. Cleary, J.P.) A FIRST OFFENDER. A first offender was convicted of drunkenness and discharged. ASSAULTING A GUARD. Alfred William Frogley, charged with having assaulted Percy Smith, guard on the Christchurch-Lyttelton train, on Saturday night, was convicted and fined forty shillings, in default one month's imprisonment.
