LEESTON SALE.

The attendance at Leeston sale on Friday was well up to the average, and there was a fair entry of stock. All classes of fat stock remained firm in values, and there was an improved demand for store sheep and cattle. Dairy cattlo also mot with a good sale. Forward hoptfets (shorn) made 13s 9d; forward wethers (shorn), 15s 3d to-16s: fat ewes, 14s to 20s. Tho entry of pigs was fairly numerous. Choppers made up to 87s; baconers, 5Gs od to 775, equal to 5Ju per lb: porkers, 31s to 455, equal to 5Jd per lb; large stores made 20s to 35s . 6d; and small, 9s 6cl to 15s. Fat cows realised £5 12s 6d to £8 7s fid. Forward steers, £6; springers, £5 to £8 10s; dry cows, £2; calves, 24s to 30s; yeariings 455; bulls, £2 10s to £4 ss. OOALGATE. On Friday at Coalgato market there •was an entry of 1620 sheep and lambs, only 120 of which were in the fat pens, 83 teing lambs. In the store pens tho bulk consisted of ewes -with lambs, both crossbred and merinos being represented, the balance of the entry being made up of hoggets and dry ewes; the majority_of tho sheep were out of the -wooL There was a good attendance, and competition was strong, but in a few cases owners were looking for higher figures than buyers were pre-. •pared to give.
