EAST CHRISTCHURCH v. RICCARTON.
This game was also in too one-eided a state to bo very interesting, R:ccarton having a fir-t innings lead of over a hundred. East, who had scored 35 and 8 for no wickets to Riccarton's 139, resumed batting, Boxshall -with 6 and Cricht-on 1 being the batsmen. The first wicket fell at 90, but ttio batsmen did not force the pace as the occasion demanded, with the result that the innings was not declared closed until after 5. o'clock, the tally then being 247 for 9 wickets. Boxshall batted in excellent form for hie SO, whilst W. Carlton notched 75 by a capita] display of sound defence and nice hitting.
