VICTORIAN ELECTIONS.
SUCCESS OF THE GOVERNMENT MELBOURNE, November 17. The voting yesterday was very heavy, women exercising the franchise for the first time. Preferential voting was also introduced. Nine Ministerialists have been returned unopposed, and in four constituencies the contest was between Liberals only. The counting is incomplete, but tho present figures 'show that Labour has lost one and probably two seats, without gaining any. The only' •Ministerialist endangered is Sir Henry Weedon. who may be displaced by an Independent. (Received November 1.5 s .m.) The latest election figures indicate that the new Bouse will be composed of 44 Ministerialists, 19 Labour, and 2 Independents. The Ministerialista are jubilant at tho result, u . ln . J the . °! d House there were 44 Muustenajets and 21 Labour members.
