THE PRIME MINISTER.
Sir Joseph Ward will lay the foundaation stone of the new public buildings in Cathedral square and Worcester street, at 11 a.m. on Monday, and the foundation st-one of the Sydenham Post Office at 3 p.m. the same day. As the result of a drive in very cold weather after one.of his meetings in Sir Joseph caught a bad chill. He was attacked by inflammation in one of his eyes, and when ho reached Dunedin ho had to seek medical attention, which resu.ted in a great improvement. The strong wind and the accompanying dust during his journey northw.ird yesterday, however, made the eye inflamed. The Prime Minister rested as much as possible upon his arrival at Waimate, and had sufficiently recovered last evening to "be able to speak with his usual vigour. Sir Joseph Ward leaves Waimate by the second express to-day for Oamaru, where ho will deliver a political addrees to-night, lie will travel by motor car to Christchurch to-inccrow. A Cabinet meeting will be held in Christchurch on Monday, when the Hons. J. A. Millar and l>. Buddo will be present.
