Home grown supplies have been plenti-. ful, and arc back to the level of tho 4th inst. A considerable quantity of poor unfinished carcases of mutton and lamb aro coming on tho market, and sold at low prices, owing to tho dry weather. Frozen meat stocks in store nro being rapidly reduced, owing to extra demand from strike area. Steamers are held up at various porte, and cannot discharge. It is estimated that stocks waiting discharge amount to 600,000 carcases mutton, 500,000 carcases lamb, 450,000 quarters beef. Chilled beef is selling at: —Fores 2|d to 2Jd- i» n ds 3d to 4Jd, frozen beef, River Plates, fores 2d to 2id, hinds 3Jd to 83d: Australian fores 2d to 2id, binds 3Jd to 3}d; New Zealand fores 2d to 2sd. hinds 3id to 3Jd; mutton, Plates. Sid to 3Jd, Australian 3Jd to 3Jd, New Zealand 3Jd to 3id; lamb prices irregular from 4f3 to s|d. If the dock strike does not terminate quickly stocks of frozen meat will soon be exhausted in London. The future is marked with great -uncertainty, some fear low prices when stock on board steamer is released."
