AMURI CATTLE SALE.
Tho annual spring sale of cattle took I>lace yesterday at tho Ainuri saleyards, Culverden, when there was a good attendance. The entries totalled 200, of ■which 182 were fats. Mr D. Ruthorford, of Leslie Hills, as usual, sent in the principal draft, consisting of Herefords of his own breeding, and mixed Southland bred cattle. They were of lighter weights than were offered last year, but tho Horefords were of exceptionally good quality. There was competition, and values were well up to those ruling at Addington the previous day. The averages for the Leslie Hills' draft worked out at £12 Gβ 9d for steers, and £10 Is for heifers, the top prico being £13 15s, as against £15 last year. The buyers wero Messrs *F. Steele, Jas. Knight, J. Ferguson, A. S. Ford and D. Coleman (Christchurch), F. Frances (Culverden), D. Sutherland (Rangiora), and Smith (Ashburton). The few store cattle offered sold well. The following were the restilts of the sale: — Messrs H. Matson and Co. sold for Mr D. Rutherford (Leslie Hills) 7 steers at £13 los, 7 at £13 10s, 7 at £13 7s 6d. 7 at £12 17s 6d, 14 at £12 15s, 7 at £12 10s, 7 at £12 os, 7 at £12 2s 6d, 7 at £11 10s, 7 at £10 17s 6d, 7 at £10 2s Gd; 8 heifers at £11 12s 6d, 8, at £11 10s, 8 at £10 10s, 8 at £10, 8 at £9 17s 6d, 1G at £9 15e, 16 at £9 12s 6d, Bat£9 7s 6d, Bat £9- For Messrs Earshman and McKay (Hurunui), 5 eteers at £9 7s 6d 4 1 heafer at £9 2s Gd. Messrs Dalgety and Co. sold for Colonel Chaffoy (Waiau), 3 steers and 1 heifer at £8 los. A few 2i store steeds boM at £4 10s, and yearlings at 425.
