A statement published last week to tho pffect that (Mr McIS ally's land near Amberley had been seriously flooded was somewhat exaggerated, only a part of the property being covered to a depth ot from sin to lOin for a short time.
Tho recent enow storm means a heavy loss to a great many sheep farmers in the Geraldme district. Several flocks are under enow on ihe hill runs, and it is difficult to get men to undertake the work of anow-raking. Ono man has a mob of cattle snowed in on tho hills near Beautiful Valley, ajid it is impossible to get thorn out. It is a serious matter to get feed for the stock even on the plains, and as much as 8d per head is being paid for feeding sheep. Thoso who have- crops of turnips and mangels can. command their own figure, and high prices nre given. In some- cases fanners Jiro keeping their sheep alive by feeding them with bran and chaff-
