Acceptances for the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club's August meeting close at eight o'clock this even-

ing. From to-day all horses in the Dominion rank as a year older. Torrential, by Stepniak from Tempest, was shipped to Melbourne last week. Troon is suffering from a cold, and is an unlikely starter at the Grand National Meeting. After the Wellington Meeting, Electrakoff was taken homo to New Plymouth, and he will not be brought south for the Grand National Meeting. Wirnmera was not shipped to Sydnoy last week, owing to want of space on the steamer. According to present intentions he will leave on August 11th. After a fairly lengthy respite three df H. Thompson's charges in Pilgrim's Way, CSanmena, and Izdubar, have resumed work at Riccarton. Bollin. Peary, Ih-cadless, Napper, and Mollington were scratched for all engagements at tho Grand National Meeting at 9 a.m. yesterday. At the annual meeting of tho Ashbnrton Trotting Club hold last evening, members spoke highly of tho valuable work which had been done for the Club by the secretary, Mr A. A. Fooks. A motion was carried unanimously voting Mr Fooks a bonus of ten guineas. A cable message from Sydney states that Formoden, by Multiform—Otterden, has been sold by Mr G. D. Greenwood to Mr Shiel. of Camden, for stud purposes. The price- is not stated. St. Albert and Kildonan and tho trotter Hamapuka arrived from Wellington by the Mararoa on Sunday.
