Camcross, ActingSpeaker of tho Legislative Council, the Hon. H. F. Wigram, M.L.C.. the Hon. J. T. Paul, M.L.C., Messrs J. P. Luke, M.P., G. W. Forbee, M.P., C. H. Poole, M.P., T. H. Davey, M.P., and O. Witty, M.P.. returned to Wellington by the Mararoa last nigiit.
Tho Rev. J. Dawson, tho Bgv. J. Comrie, tho Rev. Mr Buchanan, tho Ilov. 11. Pnrohas, Messrs John Studbolmo, Wesley Spragg, J. R. Palmer, J. E. Ritchie, and F. McLean, left for Wellington by tho Mararoa last night. Arrivals in town yesterday included: —Mrs Nosworthy (Windermerc), Mr G. Rutherford (Hawarden), Mr J. M. Nivon (Dunedin). Mr W. Paxton (Timaru), Mr and Mrs H. T. Little (Hawarden) Miss Buller (Rakaia), Mr Walter Macfarlano, and Mr P. B. Boyd (Dunedin).
Mr and Mrs F, J. Doak, of Wakanui, who aro leaving tho district were on Friday ovening entertained in the schoolroom, when Mr Doak was presented with a gold watch and Mrs Doak with, a silver toa and coffee service and tray. Mr G. Bailey, who had been in Mr Doak's employ for about eight years, was presented with a caso of pipes.
