WITH THE BISLEY TEAM.

THE VOYAGE HOME. (feom ory. sfeciai. correspondent.) PLYMOUTH, June 9. H. Marshall, president of the Kirori Rifle Club, who has been sent Home by his Club and a number of Wellington enthusiasts, has been attached to the Bisley rifle team, -being eligible to fire in all matches except tho Kolapore Cup. It is very probable that Rifleman F. Hay, also of the Karori Rifle Club, who finished twelfth for the belt this year, and who is now on his way to Bisley, will also be attached to the team on arrival in. London.

Tho team had a very enjoyable passago from New Zealand. Soon after starting an amusement committee was set up by the passengers, tho members of the team figuring strongly in it. Captain King was elected chairman, Rifleman Halliday secretary, and Marshall treasurer. For a part of the vovago Ching was suffering from sciatica, but ho has quite recovered. Cuthbertson had a bad time for the first two weeks, but is now himself again. On the run from Monte Video to Rio Janeiro we received a great scare. Smallpox had broken out in the steerage, the patient being a child, who had, with its fatlier, como aboard at Monte Video. It is reported that a week previous this man had buried his wife and other child, as the result of this disease. The child was isolated one day after leaving Monte Video. Someono had blundered, and so several hundred people wero unnecessarily exposed te tho risk of contracting the disease. Tho steerage passengers were vaccinated, but luckily for tho team, it was decided not to do the first and second saloon passengers. On arrival at Rio the ship was allowed to land the patient and its father. Teneriffe was left at 2 a.m. on Juno 3rd, the King's Birthday. The birthday was celebrated with a special deck concert, tho second saloon passengers inviting both first saloon and steerage. Capt. King, Halliday, and Marcnzie did yeoman service in connection with the entertainment's. Through tho Bay of Biscay wo had a splendid run with smooth sea.

Colonel Hughes held a meeting of the team, and did a very good thing in appointing Capt. W. S. King, of Christchurch, as adjutant. The team lias been a very happy family, and it has been a pleasure to sail with them. They one and all land in splendid health, and are eager for work.

The V.M.C.A. team fired a miniature rifle match against the Ga_ Company'- team, in the Christchurch competition, at the Canterbury Miniature Rifle Apsociation'a range in St. Asaph street last night. Scores: YJiC.A. 621, Gas Company 633.
