RITUAL AT ST. MICHAEL'S CHURCH.
TO THE EDITOR. OF "TEK TRESS." »«sir. —It is much to be desired that the hundreds of the churchmen of this diocese who signed the memorial to Bishop Julius protesting against the ritual in the above church, sliouU be firm and unvoilding in their efforts to haro a stop' put to it. Tho »»ishop. too, has long known of tho unsettled position in St. Michael's-—_f the grief of many of tho oldest parishioners, al tiie existing state of things, and yot it appears he prefers to study the one individual clergyman rather than the once happy and united congregation there. Ho must think it a small matter when he declines to act before September. It is fortunate that there is a fund to test the legality of the Vicar s practices. Should the Bishop, however, support tho Vicar in it all, the congregation still has a power in its hands. Tho memoralists must be firm and insist that a truly Protestant service only shall be conducted in their beloved church. This is necessary, in the.interests of other Anglican churches in the city, as serious innovations are already creeping in, and the clergy and congregations are watching St. Michael's as to the future of their own churches.— Yours, etc., SEMPER FIDELES.
