At the Show Grounds a fast and evenly-contested game between Merivale and Albion resulted in a win for Merivalo by 8 points to 7- For tho winners, W. Scott scored two tries, one of which he converted, and for Albion Gillard potted a goal and Galavin scored a try" Mr C. Buchanan was referee.
Christchurch defeated Sydenham.on the Christchurch ground, by f eleven points to five. For the winners, Barrell. Cannon and Wallace scored tries. Mullins converting one." Batburst scored for the losers, Sinclair converting. Referee: Mr S. W»Binns. Playing on tho Old Boys' Ground, Old Boys defeated Canterbury College by 16 points to 9. For tho losers Smith, Tracey and Reed scored tries. Referee: Mr W. Duggan. Richmond met .Marist Bros., on the Richmond ground, when Marist won .by 3 points to nil—a penalty goal kicked by Woodham. Referee: Mr W« W. Garton.
