TRADES UNIONS AND POLITICS.
Tho Government's "Osborne Bill" enables a trade union, after a secret ballot superintended by tho Registrar of Friendly Societies, to apply its funds to nolitical and municipal purposes. Such funds must be separated from the rest *jf thc union's finances, and tho members of tho union declining to subscribe will be exempt from payment, without exclusion from any of the benefits. A union will not bo allowed to make contributions to a political fund.
