TEMUKA.
(Beforo Mr. V. G. Day,. S.M.) Michael Brosnahnn. (Mr Aspinnll). licensee of tho Star Hotel, was charged with exposing" liquor for sale after hours. Evidence was given for the police that on tho 10th May,. after 10 o'clock they passed the hotel and saw tho landlord -landing against the counter and saw several men in tho bar parlour. They knocked and after .:\ time were' admitted, but when they got m the bar was locked up and the "lalidlord upstairs. For the defence it was stated that tho bar was closed and that tho men had been attending a sick horse, which /they wore going to see again later on. A fine of £-5 a.nd costs was imposed. - •■■-.:.■.' J. Taylor,.G. Henderson. G. Levens, M. Quinn and W. Radford were then charged with being on licensed premises after hours. Mr. Aspinall defended and pleaded not guilty. After hearing evidence tho charges against t_nmn, Levens and Henderson were dismissed and Radford and Taylor wero fined 10s and costs.
