At a special general meeting of! tj* Temuka and Geraidine Agricultural and Pastoral Association, a requisition, signed, by twenty-two members,-was presented, asking that the committee be enlarged so as to allow of better representation from the Geraidine end of the district. On the motion of, Messrs J. Chisholni and D. Grant, it' was resolved to increase the number of committee members to thirty, and tho following ten I were elected to fill tho vacancies:—Messrs J. Kennedy A. M. Robertson, M. Charles, Ales. Sfajwatf, A. G. Macdonald, B. Kelland; W. Payne, E. CMalley, W. M. Braoe, andG., B. Creemer. At the committee meeting held afterwards, it was decided that the question of dates be left oyer till next meeting, and the following sub-committees were appointed to oW with the schedules: —Sheep—Messrs D. Grant, Tarbotton, and R, Smith; cattle and pigs—Messrs J. J. Nolan, A. Shaw, and A. Stewart; draught bones —Messrs W. Bell, J, Patereon/ $, Ward, and C. Austin; light horses-i-Messrs J. Kennedy, W. H. Palmer, D. E. Lewis, W. Payne, A. G. HacdosaJd, A. M. Robertson; produoe—Messrs J. Chisholm, R. Macaulay, X, Mackenzie, and J. Holwell; dogs—Messrs W. H. Palmer and j. Guild. Serenty-sbt aew members were elected. At the monthly meeting of the Temuka Road Board, the pay-aKeet, amounting to £181 10s, was passed for payment. The month's receipts totalled £588 Is 2d, and the bank balances were as follows:—Land fund account, Or. £238 6s 3d; general account, Br. £48 Is lid. Mr T. Buxton, M.P., waited on the Board in reference to the Gofr ernmeht grant of £500 for tlie Greenstone Island road. The ciroiilar received from the Under-Secretary, notifying th© rote, set forth that.:*^ e money was not to be expended oil the purchase of land, but for road formation! It was pointed out that bv'foraing the road a popular seaside resort could be made, but if the restriction as to purchase held good, the Board had no option in the matter. Eventoally Mr Buxton undertook to con***juni-' cate with the Government, and get consent to the money being spent for tho purchase of land as well as formation and fencing. Pending a reply the matter was adjourned.
