A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the General Committee of the Canterbury A. and P. Association was held yesterday afternoon, Mr James Stevenson presiding over a largo attendance.

A letter signed by several firms of stock agents, asking that the pedigree stock sale at the November Show should be done away with, was referred to the Sheep and Cattle Committees.

The Tramway Board's request that the galvanised iron fence near the trotting grounds be reduced in height was referred to the Ground Committee.

Accounts amounting to £2532 2s od were passed for payment. The dates of the Ram Fair next year wore fixed for March 23rd and 24th.

The following Committee recommendation was agreed to: —"That it be a recommendation to the Luncheon Committee that arrangements be made to provide special luncheon accommodation for judges and members of committee in attendance, and that better supervision be adopted in connection with refreshments in office."

It. was further agreed that the General Committee should take into consideration the whole question of the existing luncheon accommodation.

After considering the matter in committee, the following motion (moved by Mr Staveley) was agreed to:—-'That authority be given to consent to the Canterbury Hall Company being reconstructed without any claim to the Agricultural and Pastoral Association to share in the surplus profits or capital, and without any right to representation on the Board of Directors; the legal draft to be considered by the Finance Committee before signature."
