NOTES.
The Annual Meeting of the Malvern Trotting Club, which takes place today, bids fair to be the most successful in the history of the club. Many well-performed horses figure in the leading events, amongst them being Ben Hur, Cora Lynn, Wyckliffo, My Mistake, Almond, Electcr, and Major Hopetoun. Master Soult has been blistered on both fore legs, and he will not race again till autumn. His stable companion, Elysian, is doing steady exercise.
Highly satisfactory nominations were received last evening for the Canterbury Park Trotting Club's Summer Meeting, which starts on the 26th inst.
Emblem, by Field Battery, died on Monday last, a.s the result of a strain. Nuage, wiuner of this year's Grand Prix, has been purchased for the Graditz Stud, Germany. She cost £12 000 The Manawatu Racing Club Committee met on Monday lost, and decided that in view of the recent gambling legislation it would bo necessary in the meantime to withdraw the permit allowlowing the newly-formed trottine club the use of the Awapuni Ilaceeotirse for ita inaugural Meeting B8 the committe« wag ot opinion that such a step would be injudicious nt present
