CHRISTCHURCH DOMAINS BOARD.

a The Christchurch Domains Board met yesterday afternoon. Present —Messrs H. J. Beswick (chairman), G. Harper, G. Scott, C. Allison (Mayor), T. H. Davey, MP., H. P. Murray-Aynsley, and W. H. Cooper. The Chairman reported that the building of the tea*kio%k in the Domain Gardens was well under way. The tender of the New Zealand Farmers' Co-operative Association for the tiles for the roof of the kiosk, at £98, was accepted. The Association will supply Somerset, Marseilles » tiies, of British manufacture. They also gave a donation of £10 to the Board's funds, thus making the net price of the roofing £88. Mr B. P. Manhiro forwarded his resignation as a representative of the city on the Board, owing to being unable to attend the meetings. The resignation was accepted, and it was decided to proceed with the election of a successor, i Messrs .Firth, Perch and Gibb waited on the Board as a deputation from the Model Yacht Club, to ask that tho shortage of water in Victoria Lake should be remedied. They suggested that the outlet made by tho Board b© raised six inches, so as to give that much greater depth of water. It was stated that unless tho request was granted the club would have to disband. It was pointed out that some ! years ago the club sank a deep -well at a cost of some £80 to provide water for the lake for sailing purposes. It was agreed to reply that if the matter was feasible, the shortage of water would bo remedied. Mr Young I the head gardener, was instructed to report to the Board on the request. a
