An inquest concerning the death of Peter Wallace Greenfell, who received fatal injuries in an accident in Colombo street on Monday, was held by Mr Bishop, Coroner, yesterday afternoon. Dr. Foster, house surgeon at theHospital, stated that wfien deceased was admitted at noon the previous <}aj', ho was suffering greatly from shock. Oil examination, it was found that peveral ribs on the )ef fc *tde were broken* and the lung wg,s evidently .injured. George Millar stated , that when going home to lunch on the day of tho accident, ho saw deceased riding homo on his bicycle. At the time doceaeed, was just turning out of Dundas street into Colombo sireetj and going at a fairly rapid rate. A spring dray belonging to Waddell 8, Ltd., was coining towards him from town. Deceased was riding on his proper side. Just at tho corner, deceased collided with the horse 3 and was knocked over. As ho rolled on the ground tho cart went over him. In .witness's opinion, deceased took a risk in trying to get between the cart and the gutter. Walter Wilkinson, cabinet-maker, stated that he was standing on the footpath at the corner of Dundas. and Colombo streets, when the accident happened. Hβ described how the accident occurred, and in his opinion the driver was in no way to blame. The driver of tho cart, John E. Minnis, gave evidence, stating that deceased was thrown off his bicycle at the corner, falling under the cart. The horse's hoof must havo struok deceased, as witness felt no bump of the cart. He could uofc move the cart because of a passing tram. The Coroner returned a verdict that deceased was accidentally killed by being run over by a cart. Mr Caseidy appe&red for Wnddell Bros, Ltd. An inquest concerning the death of a child about nine weeks old, named Victor Travers lJurnett, was held before Mr H. W. Bishop, Coroner, at noon yesterday. The evidence showed tha+. the child was weak from birth, was admitted to the Hospital at 7 p.m. on Sunday, was given restorative*, but showed no improvement. a nd died the same evening at 8.15 o'clock from congestion of the lungs. A verdict accordingly was recorced. At the inquest touching the death of Agatha Lawsoh Stewart, the seven-year-old child of Arthur Stewart, of Hinds, killed on Monday afternoon, a verdict of accidental death was returned.

B. Helmling, an employee of life Dunlop Rubber Company, met with a nasty accident yesterday morning whilst using the brushing machine, and had two fingers of his right hand severely crushed.
