. The Prime Minister, who coes to Rotorua to-morrow with Lady Ward for a fortnight's holiday, will probably spend Christmas .in Auckland. He will go South for the New Year.
Hon. T. Mackenzie and Mrs Mackenzie, accompanied by Mr L. S. Johnson (private secretary), arrived from Wellington by the Maori yesterday, and left for the South by tfie first express. Mr W. Nosworthy, M.P., arrived from Wellington by the Maori yesterday morning. Colonel Hawkins, 0.C.D., visited H.M.S. Powerful yesterday, and lunched on board the flagship. Mr J. Liddell Kelly and Mrs Kolly left by the Maori last night for Wellington, en route for Auckland. Mr J. D. Ritchie, Land Purchase Inspector, arrived from tho south by the second express last night, and left by the Maori for Wellington. The Roy. J. G. W. Russell left for Wellington last night. Messrs J. B. Reid, C. Holdsworth (General Manager of the Union Steam Ship Company), A. J. George, J. M. Leigh, nnd A. C. Ilolleston, left for Wellington by the Maori last night, .Air A. S. Nicholls was .yesterday morning admitted as a barrister of the Supreme Court by Mr Justice Sim, on the motion of Mr O. T. J. Alpers. Messrs A. C. Nottingham, J. Short, and A. h. D. Eraser, arrived from Wellington yesterday morning. Mr C. A. Eweri has been appointed a member of the Board of Governors of the New Zealand Institute, vice Mr J. W, Joynt, resigned. Mr Cyrus Williams, the Engineer of the Harbour Board, who has been visiting Europe with reference to the purchase by the Board of a dredge, will arrive in Wellington by the Sydney steamer to-day. Mr "Williams will reach Christchurch on Friday.
