A six-roomed house at Roseneath, owned and occupied by Mr Charles Johnston, was totally destroyed by fire at eleven o'clock yesterday morning, through a mantel-drape in front of the kitchen fire catching alight. The house, which was valued at £SuO, was insured in the State office for £300, but the contents were uninsured. DUNEDIN, December.s. An unoccupied house at Opoho, valued at £250, owned by Edward Osten, of Wellington, was totally destroyed by fire. It was insured for £250 in the State office.
