The Shaw, Savill and Albion- liner Tainui made a fast run of a little over twelve hours from "Wellington to Lyttelton, arriving in the stream at X.15 a.m. yesterday. Siie has 1600 tons of general cargo from London to discharge here. She will load wool, etc., at Lyttelton and Wellington only, for London, and will sail finally from Wellington on the 29th inst The Kaitcngata is to sail this afternoon for Timaru nnd Dunedin, to discharge the balance of her cargo of timber and coal. Tho Rakanoa left Westport at 10 a.m. on Saturwith a full enrgo of timbeT for Lyttelton. The Kittnwn is to leave Greymouth to-morrow with a full carj?o of timber for Lyttelton. Ihe Kaituna arrived yesterday from Weetport to coal the warehipa Encounter, Cambria ana Pioneer. The Kaiapoi Shipping and Trading Company's steamers Ivairaki and Wootton are both due here early this morning from Kaiapoi. The former vessel will leave this afternoon with cargo for Greymouth and Hokitika, and the Wootton will sail to-night with a load of rails for Nydia -t*ay. Captain D. McLtan. late of the Tarawera, is in command of the Mokoia, which hae entered the East Coast trade in place of the Hauroto. i The Norwegian barqucntine Lindstol, which was expected to come to Lyttelton. arrived at Dunedin on Friday from Port Esperance, Tasmania with 240 000 feet of hardwood. The Wootton reached the wharf at Kaiapoi yesterday, and will discharge a cargo of timbeT to-day.
