SATURDAY'S MARKETS.

With the near approach of Christmas there -were exceptionally good entries at Saturday's markets, ahd a much stronger demand than has been the case for many weeks. Business in conUequenctJ was very brisk. Roosters brought up to 6s Brl, cockerels from 33 10d to 7s 9d, hens from 2s 8d to 5s 6d; chickenß Is to Is 8d per pair, goslings 7s to 8s 6d, ducks 3s 7d to 7s, and ducklings up to 7s 6d. There was only a medium entry of pigs, but n much better demand. Weaners brought from 4s to _8s Gd, and stores from 8s 6d to 12s. The resuite iehotred a marked improvement on last week's sales. There was an entry of 80 horses. Draughts fetched up to £20, harness horses from £12 to £23, and hacks from £5 to £10. • ,
