OBITUARY.
9 REV! D. J. STEELE. News of the death at Epsom, Auckland, of the Ilov. D. J. Steele, M.A.. was received here last night. The deceased gentleman was for many years pastor of John Knox Clrurch, Ranjjiora. and was held in the highest esteem by all.
(SPECIAL TO "THE PKEBS.") GISBORNE, November 28. Nurse Hei. sister of M r H. Hei, solicitor, died this morning, at the. Gisborne > Hospital, from typhoid fever. Miss Hei came to nurse her brother, who -was lying in n critical condition for sonify time with fever but who is now progrossins well towards recovery. The c|ccejs<vl lady hold .a Government position amongst tho Maoris north of Auckland, and obtained !eaye to come to Gisborne. She was only in the hospital about a fortnight.
