OBITUARY.
IjONDON, November 25. Dr. J. MarGregor, of St. Cuthbert's Church. Edinburgh, is dead.
The liiteDr. 'MacGregor was Chaplain-in-Ordinary in Scotland to Queen Victoria and Kins Kdward. Hβ visited Australia and Xew Zealand in 1889, and was Moderator of the General As-t-einbly, Church of vSootland, in 1891.
The lato Mrs Arthur Cuthbert Baines, whose death took place at the advanced am of 92 years, arrived in New Zealand with her husband by the ship Mermaid in the year 1862, and was one o! the pioneer settlers in the 3lalvorn Hills district. In the year 1875 Mr Baines sold his farm to Captain Parker, and, with Mrs Baines, who. survived him some nine years, took U]> his residence at Upper Riecnrton.
