TAIHAPE, May 25. An old settler at Pukeokahu, Mr John "Joseph Boyd; was found dead on the road, "three miles from his home, between nine and ten o'clock last night. Apparently he had been thrown from a trap. TTMARU, May 25. Thomas Gladwin, a_ed 63 years, died under chloroform at the Timaru Hospital to-r.ight whilst undergoing an operation for the removal of a cancer of tho throat. x
