FOOTBALL.
CANTERBURY RUGBY UNION. A met ting of the Management Committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union , was hold last evening, when there were present—Messrs G. H. Mason (chairman), W. Walton, F. T. Evans, F. I. Cowlishaw, S. F. Wikon, P. Menzies, G. Scott, ,jun., G. S. Matthews and.W. G. Garrard (hon. sec.). The Christehurch Football Chib was fined 10s for playing men not on the special list, thus being the Club's second offence. It was decided that the Church parade of the Sydenham Football Club on June Bth be accorded the Union's patronage. Mr A. C. Fuller, a referee, wrote stating that he had ordered a Linwood playpr off the field in. the Christchurch A-Linwood A President's match last Saturday, owing' to the player disputing his derision. The referee- and the player in question attended the meeting, and after examination it was decided to suspend *the nlayer for four playing Saturdays. A motion of condolence was, on the motion of Mr Allardyee, accorded the wife and family of the late Rev. J. Hoatson, who did a great deal in early days, to premoto the interests of football. At a meeting of the committee of .the Sydenham Cub it was decided to hold the eighth annual church parade at St. Saviour's Church, on Sunday, June oth. ft was also arranged to hold a social gatherins in connection with the presentation to two mc niters, who- recently joined the married state, and also to elect a delegate to the Canter- , bury Rugby Union.
