(Before Mr T. A. B. Bailey, S.M.) POLICE CASES.

Teh first offenders for drunkenness were each fined os and costs, in default 24 hours' imprisonment. A female first offender was convicted and discharged, and a male who was found drunk on the t'nrist-.'Mircn railway 'platform was fined 10s and costs. Andrew Maxwell Walker, John O'Grady, and Thomas Woods, second offenders, were each fined 10s and costs. Bryda Sheehan, who made her third appearance within six mouths, was fined 20s and costs. Daniel dimming was fined 20s and costs for using obscene language. John J. Lloyd was charged with using behaviour on the Christchurch railway station on April 30th, whereby a breach ot the peace might have been occasioned.

Bellman, auci Win. Hamilton Thompson were each fined 7s and costs for riding bicycles on footpaths. Chas Newman and Wm. A. Foster were fined 7s without costs, and Percival Nash and Richard Temple wero convicted and discharged for similar offences. Frank Guy was fined 10s and costs for riding a motor cycle at right without a light. Edwin Joseph Smith, Geo. Blazey, Richard Blackburn, Frederick Johnston, Wm. Arnst, and John Craig Ford were each fined os and costs for allowing cattle to wander. Thos. Claridge was fined 10s and costs for a similar offence. Jas. Lynch was fined 7.s and costs for driving a metal dray through the city. Harry C. Owen was fined os and costs for driving a vehiclo nt other than a walKing pace aetoss tho intersection of Lichfield, Manchester and High streets. Robert Weir was fined 10s and costs for driving a cab at an excessive speed over the intersection of High street, Colombo and Hereford streets. Constable AicCowan said that the speed was about fifteen miles an hour, and after the cab reached the City Hotel it collided with a tramway pole*, and liot.h wheels were wrenched oft. Leslie Montgomery was fined 10s and costs for driving across the same intersection at an excessive speed. Archibald Lloyd (Mr Johnston) was fined 20s and costs for driving a taxi-cab along Manchester streot at a dangerous pace.
