COALGATE.

On Friday at Coalgate market there was again a full yarding, over 13.w~.iJ sheep aud lambs coming to band, ouly 1700 of which were in the fat pens. Lambs accounted for 1250, the bulk of which were only of medium qnality, with a "big percentage of unfinished, only three or four lots, about 450, being good freezers. The balance of fats consisted of wethers and ewes. With few exceptions the sheep were of a poor class, mostly aged sorts. There vas a full attendance, and except for fat lambs, which were easier in sympathy with other markets owing to adverse reports from London, and the full state of the different freezing works, competition was fairly keen, and a good clearance was effected at the following prices:—Fat crossbred wethers 15s to 17s 3d, fat lambs 12s id to 14s Cd. fat crossbred ewes 10s 6d to 14s. fat merino ewes 0s 6d to 8s 9<J, rape lambs 10s lid to 11s id, store lambs 8s 7d to 10s 4d, cull sorts oe 9d to 0s 3d, ewe lambs (poor) 11s sd, others were passed at from 14s to 14s 6d, two-tooth, crossbred wethers (email) 9s 6d, forward- to 14s, two-tooth crossbred ewes 13s 9d to 17s, four and six-tooths Mβ to 15s 3d, six and eight-tooths lls id to 13s, sound mouth 8e 9d to 12s, aged 5s 3d to 8e 3d, sound-mouth half bred ewes 10s 2d to lls, sound-mouth merino ewes 7e 7d to 10s, sound to failing. 6s 7d to 7b 7d, aged 4s lid to 5s 3d, citfta 2a 3dj fojjr-tootli merino

Principal sales were: — 56 two-tooth crossbred ewes 17s, 199 at 14s. 250 at 13s lOd, 102 sound-mouth 12s, 4t>3 rape lambs 10s lid, 205 store lambs 8s 7d.
