FIRE IN SYDENHAM.
About 1.30 this morning a fire was. discovered at Selwyn street, Sydenham, in a stable at tlie rear of a bakehouse which is situated at the back of a grocer's shop and dwelling. The stable —a two-stalled one —and a coach-house were used by Mr J. Crummy, carrier, tho bakehouse by Mr N. Cooper, and the grocer's shop was occupied by Mr W. W. Newnham and owned by Mr Flaville. The stable and contents were totally destroyed, together with one horse, and another horse was so badly injured that it will have to be shot. The fire spread to the bakehouse, which was severely damaged, but the shop and dwelling escaped. Mr Ccoper had the contents of the bakehouse insured for £50 in the Yorkshire office, but the insurances on the other portions of the premises were not ascertainable.
