NEW ZEALAND AFFAIRS
MR WADE'S IMPRESSIONS OF THE DOMINION. United Preaj Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, February 5. Mr W_,do, when interviewed, made guarded references to the New Zealand affairs. On the question of Nolicense, he said that tho general opinion of unprejudiced persons seemed to be that in the country districts the effect of No-license on general sobriety was most marked.
New Zealand. Mr stated, was animated by a spirit of confidence with regard to the financial outlook, and the general opinion was that the worst ot the financial tightness had passed away. There was strng evidence that the people had been induced to speculate, paying high prices for land, both in the cities and the country, but the corner was said to be turned, and as long as the prices of produce were reasonably maintained, there -would bo no fear of financial stress.
Mr Wade was not so cautious over his trout fishing experiences, and came near to being enthusiastic over tho blessings New Zealand possesses in her r.etwork of streams and her trout.
