Reptile 9st should appear in the Methven R.C. handicaps instead of Replete. In the published interview with Mr W H. E. Wanklyn regarding racing legislation now before Parliament, the omission of a couple of words destroyed the sense of the paragraph referring to the licensing of bookmakers. Mr Wanklyn quoted two of the chief regulations drafted by the Canterbury Jockey Club, for presentation to the Racing Conference, beginning:—"That no license shall be granted to any bookmaker or bookmaker's clerk,' etc. In the report of the interview the words "bookmaker or" were inadvertently omitteo^.
The Manawatu Racing Club's Summer Meeting will commence to-day.
