THE DEFENCE BILL.
AN INEFFECTIVE STONEWALL,
(SPECIAL TO "THE PRESS.") WELLINGTON, December 22. Messrs T. E. Taylor, Hogg, and McLaren about midnight started an inelftctivo stonewall iigninst tho compulsory clauses of the Defence Bill. The divisions went against them by 57 votes to 3, or 61 votes to 4. Mr Forbes joining with the malcontents on one occasion. The Bill is still undor consideration (at 2 a.m.), but will be finished before dnvlierht.
