HORNBY.
A concert in aid of the Hornby District School prize and picnic fund was hold in the now Islington Hall on Thursday, December 16th. The proceed.; , amounted to £12 17s 6d. The children, under Mr Bow byes end Miss Menzies, supplied the first part of the programme. Mr Kinross, chairman of tho School Committee, who presided, complimented tho residents of the township on the splendid hall they possessed, and expressed the thanks of the School Committee to those in charge for having granted the use of it" free of cost for the school concert. The picnic will be.held at Sheffield on December 23rd. , ■
