ELLERSLIE TRAINING NOTES.

(PBESB ASSOCIATION TELEGKAM.) AUCKLAND, December 18. The weather was fine for training operations at Ellerslie this morning. The bulk of the work was done on the course proper, outside the trestles. Tenterhook, not bustled, ran four furlongs in 55 2-oth sec. Wild West beat Hyperion at the end of six furlongs from a standing etart, in lmin 21 l-sth sec. Sir Artcgal, with the assistance of Havilah over the last two, covered five furlongs in lmin 5 3-sth sec. Taskmaster and Kilwinning covered a mile and a quarter in 2nrin 22 l-sth sec, the former staying best, had a. length advantage at the finish. Armlet, Miss Mischief, and Danube had light tasks on the tan. The latter is suffering from a cold. Waimangu and Santa Rosa did a round, on the tan in lmin 52 2-sth sec. The former had the best of it. Compass did half-pace work on the tan. Sir Prize and Roosevelt went a mile and a half on the tan, doing the last Tound in 2min 3 2-sth sec. The latter had the advantage at the finish. Sir Prize injured his leg, but the damage is not considered serious. Advocate beat First Gun over a round on the sand in 2min lsec. Elysian was to have gone with them, but refused to start. Full Sail easily beat Sharpshooter over six furlongs in lmin 18ieec. the fastest gallop of the morning. After breakfast Chanteuse moved freely over a mile in lmin 48 3-sth sec. Downfall and Prophet covered a round in 2tnin 6sec, the mile taking lmin 49 l-sth sec. The latter was of no use to Downfall, but bolted another round, and then tried to get through the gate, throwing his rider (CrerarV who had a lucky escape, his only injuries being bruises to his back. Ainbala sprinted four furlongs in 50 3-sth nee. War Song went a similar journey in 52aec. Tamainupo easily beat Zinnia over six furlongs on the eand in lmin 18 4-sth sec. Large numbers of others were also exercised. Prosser arrived last night with All Ited, Diabolo. Gipsy Belle, .Lady Medallist, St. Felix, Swimming Belt, and Lace Collar.
