The following is the meteorological abstract for November from observations taken at the Magnetic Observatory, Christchurch, at 9.20 a.m. daily:— — OM . Temperature in Shade—Mean max. temp., 65des; mean mm. temp., 47.5deg; ?p----proximato mean. temp, for the month, 56.3deg; mean daily range ot temp., 17.5deg; extreme max. temp, (on the 12thK 80.S; extreme mm. temp, (on the 15th), 37.3 de?. Expoecd .iiermometers—Mean solar radiation, 127deg; max solar radiation (on tho 12th), 138deg; mean terrestrial radiation, 43.7deg; mm. terrestrial radiation (on the 15th), 32.6deg. Hygrometrical—Mean elastic force of vapour, .3_lin; mean temp, of the dew point, 46.6deg; mean degree of moiature (saturation— 100). 72. ' , Rain—Total rainfall, 2.202 in; number of days on which rain fell, 11; max. rainfall in any 21 hours (on the 6th), .802 in.
Mr C. J. LeCren reports that tho rainfall on "Cren Lea." Carew (Ashburton County), for November, was 2.17 inches. Rain fell on ten days, and the heaviest fall was on the 6th, when .90inch fell.
