SUPREME COURT TRIALS.
(press association' TELEGRAMS.) AUCKLAND, December 1. At the Supreme Court to-day Augustus Hunter Wheatley, who had pleaded guilty in the lower court to theft of jewellery from postal packets at Tauraarunui, was sentenced to two years imprisonment, the Judge remarking thai correspondence was sacred. Thomas Henry Wassocks. for breaking and entering at Inglewood, was sentenced to three years' imprisonment. AUCKLAND, December 2. Three youths, named Homan, Puroell, and Pennalligen, for robbery in City road, were sentenced to three years' imprisonment, and ordered to be- kept apart, as far as possible, from the ordinary prisoners owing to their youth. The judge stated that if they had been older, heavier sentences would have been imposed. BLENHEIM, December 2. In the Supreme Court to-day a boy named George John David Goff. for indecent assault on a girl at Seddon, was con-mitted to the Stoke Orphanage during the pleasure of the authorities. INVERCAR.GILL, November 30. The Supreme Court sittings opened to-day. Mr Justice Williams, addressing the grand jury, said that he was glad l that they would have very little to do, as there was only one case for consideration. Victor Emanuel yon Tunzelman, 18 years of age, on three charges, viz., stealing £29 10s from the Friendly Societies' Dispensary, setting fire to the building, and attempting to cause the dispenser to be affected -by chloroform, was sentenced to seven years' hard labour. Michael Flanagan, an old age pensioner, 73 years of age, was acquitted on a charge of indecently assaulting a girl 14 years of age. In the Divorce Court, Mary Anne Lattimore was granted a decree nisi against Ralf R. F. Lattimore, of Ma- , heno, on the grounds of adultery. .
