Fine weather favoured the oponing of tho; Rangiora Bowling , Club's season on: , ' Saturday, when there waa .* Urge gathering cf ladies to witness the play. Six rinks -were provided for. Mr J. Sansom (president) cioclared the season open, and gave a hearty welcome to the visitors. The croquet groundswere elso opened, and the whole of the groins were in capital order. The , bowling match waa won by the home teams with a total of 132 againet the visitors' 108. Dotails are:—Chrietchurch 20 beat Rangiora IC, Linwood 24 beat Ilangiora 17, Eangibra H beat Sydenham 14, Kaiapoi 35 beat H.an«ora 16, Rangiora. 31 beat Kaiapoi No. 2 14, Rangiora 29 beat Opawa 11.
