LODGE MEETINGS.
On Thursday evening the Worshipful Master of Lodge Civic, No. 157, together with about twenty of his officers and brethren, visited Lodge Waihora, No. 141, Leeston, for the purpose of working a degree. Accompanying the visitors were M.W. Bro. Binns, P.Prov.G.M.; M.W. Bro. Withers, P.D.G.M.; Wor. Bro. Hubbard, and several of, the officers and brethren of Lodge Progress, No. 22, were also present. The Christchuroh brethren arrived by taxi-cab. After the customary ceremonial, an adjournment was made to the parish room, where an entertaining programme was gone through. At the half-yearly meeting of the Ashburton District, M.U., 1.0.0. F., Prov. G.M. Bro> Jas. Paterson presided; Dep. P.G.M. Bro. F. W. Watt occupied the V.G. chair, and delegates were present from the following lodges: Ashburton—Bros. Jas. Thompson, F. Pritchard, and F. Hancox; Pioneer—Bros. V. Ellen and J. Green; Waterton—Bro. I. Read— Tinwald — Bro. F. Schneider; Mayfield—Bro. H. Wilson; Methven—Bro. C. McDonald. The following nominations were Tβceived for the ensuing term:—For the office of Prov. G.M. for 1910-11, Bro. F. W. W T att; and for the office of Dep.P.G.M., Bros. F. Pritchard and W. Going.
The fortnightly meeting of the Oak of Sydenham Lodge, No. 15, U.A.0.D., was held in the Friendly Societies' Hall, Hazeldean. Toad, on September 29th, A.D. Bro. Gale-.presiding. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the committee, who had worked hard to try to form the Juvenile Lodge egain. P.D.P. Bro. Wilsteed, of the Pioneer Lodge, was present during the evening. Fcur new members were initiated into the lodge.
