WELLINGTON RACING CLUB.
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, July 6. The committee of the Wellington Racing Club has decided to add 10 per cent, to the value of its weight-for-ago races; nominations for which havo already closed. This makes a total increase of £250, which.wil] be disposed of as follows:—7s per cent, to go to breeder of the winner, if bred.in Now Zealand; 25 per cent, to be distributed to certain A. and P. shows to supplement prizes for events calculated to encourage the breeding of horses, such events not to be confined to thoroughbreds. It ia anticipated, if the scheme is received favourably, that the Club will extend its application to the majority of its important races. ,
