TINWALD STOCK SALES.

There was a good attendance at the Tinwald yards yesterday, and the total entries comprised 7300 sheep of mixed classes and 72 head of cattle. Lines of butchers' ewes sold well, but there was no demand for wethers, very few of which, however, were yarded. The feale of fat lambs was more spirited, but, if anything, prices were slightly lower than last week's rates. Vendors are now becoming reconciled te the fact that they must accept tho present market rates, in view cf tho continued dry weather. Prices obtained were :—Best ewes 9s to 10s 3d. medium weighte 7s Gd te 8s 9d. inferior 6s (xl to 7s 3d, merino ewes Gs 5d to Gs 9d, butchers' wethers 12s to 12s lld, free-zing lambs 13s Gd to 13s 9d, light weights 12s to 13s 4d. There was a marked improvement in tho demand for store sheep as compared with last week's sale, but thero was no perceptible increase in pricos, except, perhaps, in the case of two-tooths, which sokl freely, and were much enquired for. Prices were:—Broken mouth merino ewes 3s 9d, failing mouth half and three-quarterbi-ed eivm 7s 9d, sound mouth 10s 3d te 14s 9d, six and eight-tooth 14s lOd four and sixtooth 14vs Id to 15s 9d, four-tooth 14s od. two-tooth 16s 2d to 19s 4el, half and three-quarter bred lambs (mixed -».-s') 9s 9d to 10s Ud. The yarding of fat cattle was far in excess of tho demand. Fat steers made £5 os to £7, fat heifers £3 10s to £7 2s 6d, fat cows £2 te £(5, venlers lGs Gd, young stores sold at 28s.
