BOY SCOUTS.
TO THE EDITOR OF "TKE PRESS."
Sir,—Kindly allow mc to correct a slight error which crept into your report of an interview with mc re above. 1*- is some monUis ago now that I re-<-vived a letter from Major-General Baden-Powell asking mo to draw up in conjunction with Mr Empson. a scheme for the furtherance of the movement in New Zealand, and submit i. to him tor consideration. We decided to recommend that a gentleman be appointed to take charge of the North Island and also one for the South Island. 1 therefore wrote to Major Cossgrovo asking him of ho would accept charge of the work for tho South Island if the Major-General approved ; in which case I would send his name forward with a recommendation for the appointment. To this he replied that "'I was a bit late in the day as he had already taken charge of the movement both North and South." presumably on his own initiative.— Yours, etc., JOHN COOK. Box 41, Christchurch, March 3rd.
